ARTEFACTOS
Artefactos is a brand born from the hands of artisan ceramicist Serafín Rey — a maker whose work explores the balance of form, function, and story. Based in Valencia, his pieces – including stoneware and green-veined marble – are sculptural yet grounded, minimal yet deeply emotive. Our role was to translate that philosophy into a brand identity that felt as considered and intentional as the objects themselves.

The name, Artefactos, reflects the idea of everyday objects as vessels of meaning — not mass-produced commodities, but modern-day heirlooms. The visual identity pairs a hand-drawn bowl symbol with refined, serif typography to create a minimal maker’s mark, able to be pressed into clay, printed on natural paper, or embossed onto jute. The phrase “por Serafín Rey” is used with quiet authorship, honoring the craft behind every piece. The brand line — “Moldeado a mano y lleno de historia” (Shaped by hand and steeped in story) — came from an exploration of how to express the emotional weight of craft in the simplest possible terms. We wanted something that felt poetic yet grounded, evoking the human touch behind each piece.

We developed a brand rooted in tactility: a sun-faded palette of alabaster white, slate blue, and vibrant mustard evokes the warmth of Mediterranean light and the materiality of Rey’s studio. Each brand touchpoint — from hand-tied bags to linen-wrapped care cards — was designed to feel like a continuation of the product: intimate, humble, and quietly luxurious. Artefactos isn’t about objects. It’s about presence. Story held in form. Authorship in every curve.
